Tales of Utah

So I got back on Monday from visiting other Noelle. Usually, when I go there, we work like 10 year olds in a sweatshop, and we want to die when it is over. Thankfully we didn't do that this time. We spent a lot of time with friends, watched Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, played a really obscene amount of video games (Ticket to Ride and Bioshock Infinite), and went and saw the Evil Dead musical in zombie makeup.  Here's my proof:

We didn't completely blow off sewing though! I got 3 main things accomplished:

1) I sorted out my Victorian corset pattern, got it affixed to freezer paper, and cut out the corset for the butterfly dress (I HATE cutting, so this is a big deal).

2) We mocked up and fitted sleeves for 2 of my patterns, which I may use if I do get around to making a bustle dress this year. This part of the process requires 2 people and is my least favorite part, but with Noelle, it was super easy.

3) We used her crazy pinking-and-strip-making-machine-of-magical-voodoo to make me not have a million hours of work to cut up 4 yards of fabric into a million miles of different sized strips so that I can someday finish my polonaise outfit. I can finally trim the skirt and the jacket and the hat the way I want to! Huzzah! Here's Noelle, being the awesome stripper... er, strip maker that she is:

Bonus: I also talked through my construction plan with Noelle for my Butterfly dress and it now has the Double Noelle Seal of Approval™.

Next up, construction plans, most likely!
